Lead Engineer - Safety in aviation

Role responsibilities

The Safety & Reliability Lead Engineer supports GE Aviations activities in development and improvements of turboprop engine within our Prague facility. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals

Essential responsibilities:

Support the establishment of the technical requirements, objectives, timing, resources and funding required and assuring conformance to standards and specifications
Supports cross functional teams assisting the Local and Global Flight Safety functions
Participates on teams that address Safety and Reliability issues
Provides guidance and training to ensure GEAC complies with the Flight Safety and SMS procedures, participates in the Safety PMT
Performs Safety & Reliability Analyses e.g. FMEA, FTA, Risk Assessments and Compliance Times Assessments
Assists with Safety and Accident investigations
Maintains good relationship with Aviation Authorites
Effectively communicates and provides recommendations through analysis and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers

Qualifications/Requirements:

University degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
Proven experience in an engineering position, preferably with an Aerospace Propulsion System Manufacturer
Proficient in performing Safety Analyses, Risk Assessment, FMEA, FTA, Weibull and Reliability Growth analysis
Proficiency in English language

Desired Characteristics

Knowledge of Airworthiness Regulations e.g. CS-E and Part 21
Strong System & Critical thinking ability
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Comprehensive program management skills
Ability to influence others and create cohesive groups
